Congratulations Glennallen Cross-Country Team for their performance at State!
Girl's team took 2nd Place and everyone had strong races. Nathaneal Severs and Mia Bobowski ran personal bests. Both Nathaneal Severs and Cheyenne Fields ran in the top 15. Brynna Gerlach placed 6th over all and Teagan Rude placed 2nd for the Panthers. Great work Cross-Country Team.
Well done Panthers and way to finish with a solid finish!!! Congrats and know you had fans cheering you on in person as well as from the Copper Valley!!! Thank you cross-country coaches for your dedication this year for our Panther athletes!

Science Trek Class - In FULL motion this week as the students from Mrs. Brown's Biota of Alaska trek class traveled to Little Tonsina River with Kate Morse from the Copper River Watershed Project.
Students learned about the effects of what the water current in culverts are having and how it affects spawning salmon. Students had the opportunity to collected data on Coho salmon, Chinook salmon and burbot. They observed river characteristics above and below the culverts, and explored the benefits of "how to use" a GPS.
The data collected will be used to compare future data after a bridge replaces the culverts with the hopes of increasing and improving the spawning grounds for species of fish.
Glennallen trek classes allow students to explore individual pathways that are of interest. Thank you to Mrs. Brown for this science opportunity. Also, many thanks to all of our high school educators as well as community members involved in teaching these Glennallen High School trek classes. These educational opportunities for our district's students are appreciated!
Kenny Lake School's Little Dribblers for grades 3 through 5 will start on Tuesday, October 5th. Practice will be Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15 to 5:00. Your child should have a current physical to play. Registrations will be coming home soon.
Glennallen Junior High Cross Country ended their season with all achieving personal records. Huge shout out to Kayla Abbott for her 7th place finish for the 8th grade girls and Zane Gerlach secured the top seat taking 1st place overall with over 200 runners.
Way To Go Panthers and many thanks to our coaching staff under the direction of Head Coach Kelly Gerlach for a successful season!
